Dr Carla Nickle, a Greeneville native and graduate of Chuckey Doak High School, completed her dual undergraduate degrees in Communicative Disorders and Special Education from East Tennessee State University and then went on to complete a Masters in Speech/Language Pathology at Radford University in Virginia.  She completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.  She completed her internship and Family Medicine Residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft Gordon Georgia.  She is Board Certified in Family Medicine.  In residency Dr. Nickle received the Outstanding Resident Award.  After residency she was stationed in Ft Wainwright, Alaska where she managed the Wounded Warriors Unit and served as Officer in Charge at the Troop Medical Clinic.   Very recently she was deployed to Afghanistan for one year with the 3rd Brigade of the 10th Mountain Infantry Division out of Ft. Drum, New York. During her deployment she received the Combat Medical Badge for her care of wounded soldiers while under direct fire from insurgents.  Upon return from deployment, she served as Director of the Emergency Room at Bassett Army Community Hospital until her transition from Alaska to Greeneville.


Dr. Carla Nickle was trained and continue to be current in broad spectrum Family Medicine to include women’s health, management and delivery of pregnancies, newborn care, pediatrics, adult medicine, sports medicine and geriatric care.  The entire Nickle family is excited to become active in the Greeneville community by volunteering their time to organizations in need of assistance or medical education and supervision.  They remain interested in outdoor activities and sports to include hiking, camping, running, biking and canoeing.
