Benefit Program

Laughlin Memorial Hospital and Laughlin Healthcare Center has established a very liberal benefit program for our Healthcare Team Members. We consider our employees as our most important asset. We are committed in providing a benefit program that rewards our employees for their role in providing our patients with quality patient care.

Following is a brief summary of our benefit program:

  1. Group Hospital, Medical and Surgical Insurance: Employees working a regular work week of at least 24 hours are eligible for this benefit. Benefits can be obtained for individual or family coverage for this Laughlin Community Health Plan. This hospital pays the major cost of the coverage.

  2. Prescription Program: Available for employees and their family members.

  3. Group Life, Long Term Disability and Accident Insurance: Employees working a regular work week of at least 24 hours per week are eligible for this benefit. The insurance pays a weekly benefit for accident or illness causing an employee to miss work after the employee has been disabled for 90 days. It also pays a life amount 1 ½ times an employees annual salary. The cost of this insurance is modest as the hospital pays a significant cost of the coverage.

  4. Vacation: Employees working a regular work week of at least 24 hours per week are eligible for this benefit. Following is the accrual basis:
    Full time (40 hours per week) = 10 days yr
    Part time (32 hours per week) = 8 days yr
    (24 hours per week) = 6 days yr
  5. Holidays: Employees working a regular
    work week of at least 24 hours per week are eligible for 7 paid holidays. Following is the accrual basis:
    FT (40 hours per week) = 8 hours each holiday
    PT (32 hours per week) =6.4 hours each holiday
    (24 hours per week) = 4.8 hours each holiday
  6. Sick Pay: Employees working a regular
    work week of at least 24 hours per week are eligible for this benefit. You may bank up to a maximum of 75 days. Following is the accrual basis:
    Full time (40 hours per week) = 10 days year
    Part time (32 hours per week) = 8 days year
    (24 hours per week) = 6 days year
    Employees maintaining 480 hours of sick time for 4 consecutive months are eligible for 1 day paid bonus day.

  7. Retirement Plan: All employees are eligible to participate in the Tax Deferred Annuity Plan during announced enrollment periods. The hospital will match your contribution with a predetermined amount after one year of continuous service.

  8. Funeral Leave: All regular full time employees (40 hours per week) are eligible for a 3 day paid leave of ab-sence following a death in their immediate family.

  9. Tuition Assistance: For those full time employees (40 hours per week) that have completed one year of continuous service the hospital provides tuition assistance for College Courses. The hospital reimburses employees 100% for a grade C or above.

  10. Employee Discounts: All employees are eligible for discounts on food items purchased in the cafeteria.

  11. Performance Appraisals: We have established a Criteria Based Performance Ap-praisal Program. Employees are evaluated annually by their supervisor. The scoring on the appraisal influences annual pay increases.

  12. Wage and Salary Administration: It is our policy to pay salaries that are equitable relative to the level of work performed. This is done by job evaluation in order to fit each job into the proper level of the salary group. We strive to pay salaries that are comparable to the salaries paid for similar work in our employment market and geographical area. This will be done by making periodic wage surveys.
