LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO OFFER HEALTHCARE CIRRICULUM SCHOLARSHIPS
Greeneville and Greene County high school seniors, who are pursuing educational degrees in health sciences, are encouraged to apply for Laughlin Memorial Hospital’s Scholarship Program.
During 2005 over $32,000 was awarded to 8 city and county high school seniors. Since the inception of the scholarship program over $70,000 has been awarded to 45 area students.
Applicants for the scholarship must be accepted for admission at an accredited college or university and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should also have a minimum ACT score of 19 in Mathematics and Science Reasoning and an overall cumulative ACT score average of 19. Scholarship applications may be obtained from the high school guidance office or by contacting the Human Resources Department at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. Deadline for applications is April 15, 2006.
The scholarship program is funded by the hospital’s annual Tennessee Long Drive Shoot Out and Pro/Am Golf Tournament that is sponsored by Laughlin Health Care Foundation. This year’s tournament is being held at Graysburg Golf Course on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10, 2006.
