- try reading a book, playing, or talking together
- Make Your Child Your HIGHEST Priority
- as a parent you will be continually re-ranking your priorities, make sure your children are first
- you will not have to be a super person, but you will have to make choices
- Strengthen Your Team
- create a nurturing home base for your child
- help your child work through conflicts by supporting them emotional
- Discipline Consistently
- set clear limits and enforce them consistently
- take a time out to cool down before disciplining
- Teach Responsibility
- help your child to understand that he is responsible for the choices he makes as well as the consequences of his actions
- be a good model for your child; they are always watching
- Use Routines to Create a Sense of Togetherness
- family patterns provide kids with a sense of security
