Baby News

Life is full of things that can, if we let them, really stress us out! Everyone has happenings in their daily lives that test their the ability to cope. We all know that children can find those buttons to push that can make our moods change on a dime. It is important to remember that they are only learning their limits and are looking to you to clearly set them. When things get to hard to handle and you want to pull your hair out, remember a few helpful hints:

  • Stress Is Normal
Stress is common and we must all learn ways of coping with this crazy monster.

  • Take Time Out
Take time out for yourself. Make sure the kids are in a safe place and go sit on the front porch or go to the bathroom and close the door. Those few minutes will allow you time to breath and think before you do or say something you would not normally do.

  • Use Your Resources
Use your resources. Everyone needs help from time to time. Try not to be Super Parent all the time. Let others enjoy your children too.

  • Keep A Schedule
Keep to a schedule. When children know what’s coming next, they will be more cooperative.

  • You’re Human
Try not to be too hard on yourself. Being a parent is the hardest, most rewarding job you will ever hope to have. My hat is off to everyone Mom, Dad, & Caregiver reading this right now! Keep up the good work!

Oh We Are So Thankful

The Infant/Toddler is so very thankful for all of the kind people who donate various items to our families in need. The word “Thank You” does not seem to be enough to say yet it is important to always express. My heart truly smiles when I am made aware of those who give freely. To give is better than to receive! Just ask...

  • The Staff of Wal-Mart Distribution
  • Asbury United Methodist Church
  • The Church of Christ
  • The Foundation Office of LMH
  • Various People Living in Greene Co.
  • Bethel Baptist Church

If you are limited in your resources, there are numerous people ready to help. If you have never given to others, try it! You will receive so much more than what you were able to give.

Remember, kindness is free, so give it freely. We all have much to offer to one another without ever spending a penny

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Be careful of those stray jingle bells, they can be a choking hazard. There are many safety issues to consider when preparing for the holidays. Some other things to keep in mind:

Christmas trees can fall over; be sure your child is attended to when near the tree.

Tree ornaments can be wonderful to look at, but may have small pieces that can be another choking hazard to a small child.

A string of lights may be tugged on or chewed on by a small child, this could cause harm to the child. Be watchful!

Many people light candles, especially during the holidays (including myself). Be sure to keep lit candles, matches and lighters out-of -reach of little ones.

Have a safe and wonderful
holiday season!
