Phase I - Inpatient Cardiac Rehab

Many of our patients are referred to larger facilities for additional diagnostic testing and treatment.  In these instances, the facility responsible for their treatment typically handles the inpatient portion of cardiac rehab.

The inpatient cardiac rehab program typically includes:

  • Education on heart disease, risk factor modification, and lifestyle changes
  • Range of Motion (ROM) exercises and/or ambulating in the room or hallway after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  • Developing a home exercise program
  • Enrollment in an outpatient rehabilitation program
After discharge from the hospital your cardiologist or family physician may ask you to participate in a phase II or "outpatient" cardiac rehab program.  "Outpatient" rehab is the most important phase of cardiac rehab.
