Laughlin Healthcare Center

Laughlin Healthcare Center (LHC) operates an ninety-bed Skilled Nursing Facility for patients who still require nursing care or therapies, but not the level of care available through regular hospitalization. Patients admitted to LHC meet certain criteria with needs such as IV antibiotics, physical therapy, diabetic teaching, medication regulation, pain control and others. Patients who are admitted to LHC are called residents, and a preparation for return-to-home environment is a major focus of care.

Laughlin Healthcare Center holds an interdepartmental meeting weekly to review the care of the current LHC patients. Each resident is assessed regarding the length of stay that may be needed.

Our emphasis is on rehabilitation and restoration. Services include daily physical, speech and occupational therapies (if needed). Nursing care is provided 24 hours a day by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. An activity director involves residents in enjoyable activities, crafts, special meals and other functions.

The goal of Laughlin Healthcare Center is to get residents back to their pre-hospitalization level of activity, and self-care is encouraged. The physicians and our staff believe this emphasis is in the best interests and health of each resident.
